About
Charles Lammam is an economist and public policy professional with two decades of experience spanning government, business, think tanks, and the non-profit sector. He is the principal of Policy Economics, an independent consulting practice focused on policy research and strategic advice, with diverse clients spanning blue-chip companies, member associations, think tanks, and business groups. He currently serves as a senior fellow at the Montreal Economic Institute, a senior advisor at the C.D. Howe Institute, and a contributor at The Hub.
He previously served as Vice President of Public Policy for a major professional regulator and held senior roles in the Ontario government, including Executive Director of Policy and Budget at the Ministry of Finance, where he advised two ministers and the premier on fiscal and economic policy.
A veteran of the think tank sector and a recognized voice on fiscal and economic issues, Charles has written extensively on taxation, productivity, entrepreneurship, and economic competitiveness. He has authored over 100 policy reports and 500 shorter articles, with commentaries appearing in every major Canadian news outlet, including The Globe and Mail and the National Post. He has appeared on television and radio, testified before parliamentary committees and government panels, and continues to field regular requests for advice from government officials of all political stripes. He holds an MA in Public Policy and a BA in Economics.
